It is with a great sadness that I learned that Norman FENDALL had left us in 2006.
Norman and I made contact thanks to www.raf38group.org.
Norman was a Wireless Operator Air and a veteran of 295 Squadron in which he had been posted from June 1943 (38 Wing) to the start of 1945 (38 Group).
We corresponded regularly and Norman was always pleased to reply to my questions.
Norman naturally accepted to write his memories for www.raf38group.org that you can find in Veterans’ stories part: 295 Squadron.
I remember Norman’s pleasure when Paul Nikolic created for him a reproduction his Albemarle V1757 8Z-‘U’.
Norman also joined the Stirling Aircraft Society and as usual he was very active writing articles or going, by example, to the Netherlands for ceremonies.
We miss you Norman.
